Kekuli Provincial Park Campout,
Paddle and Bocci Tournament --- June 20 – 22, 2008

*** NOTE *** please advise if you are attending so campsites can be
arranged
– cutoff for booking is June 18.
- KCKC members will pay individually for camping.
- BC Parks fees are:
$24 per site (maximum 4 persons)
- Seniors 65+ (must have Gold Card) $12
per site (4 persons)
- Kekuli Provincial Park is located between Vernon
and Oyama approx. 8KM south of Vernon. If coming from Kelowna go past
the turn off to Predator
Ridge then look for right turn off Highway 97 to Kekuli (you can see
the park on the right side from the highway)
- It is a very nice park
with large camping spots, protected boat launch, lots of grassy areas,
playground for kids and flush toilets.
- We plan on paddling towards one
end of the lake each day.
- Paddles will commence at 1000h and are expected
to be about 4 hours. Bring a lunch.
- Bring loonies for the famous “bocci
tournament”
- There will be a “pot luck” dinner on Saturday
night.
- Check out time on Sunday has been arranged to be mid afternoon
instead of the usual 1100h.
- Members who are not planning to camp are welcome to join for day paddles.
Please be at the park by 0930h.
- There is a parking fee for day use.

Sunday Paddles have started
in April. Start times will be 10:30 AM. This is an 'on the water' time
so plan accordingly. See above for the list of paddles.

Wednesday Night Paddles—The
Official Paddles have started again in April, see the List above or
Calendar page for locations.
The Wed Night
Paddles will start at 6:00 PM every Wednesday, 6:30
starting
in June.
All boaters
must
have
Coast
Guard
Required gear
(see below) These are required for all club paddles. Guests will
be welcome
to
join in for an evening, but will be expected to join the club
for subsequent events. See Calendar Page for locations

Personal protection equipment
1. one Canadian-approved personal flotation device or lifejacket of appropriate
size for each person on board
2. one buoyant heaving line of not less than 15 m in length
Boat safety equipment
3. one manual propelling device OR an anchor with not less than 15 m of cable,
rope or chain in any combination
4. one bailer or one manual water pump fitted with or accompanied by sufficient
hose to enable a person using the pump to pump water from the bilge of the vessel
over the side of the vessel
Navigation equipment
5. a sound-signalling device or a sound-signalling appliance
6. navigation lights that meet the applicable standards set out in the Collision
Regulations if the pleasure craft is operated after sunset and before sunrise
or in periods of restricted visibility
